Humanism's Effect on the

Social Order

            Many of the attitudes that are manifested today within the general population toward religion  has been created by the teaching and the acceptance of  humanism that is rampant  everywhere one looks today.         

            Today the concepts of the humanist's doctrine are also invading the church of Christ in many places.  The doctrine of the humanist is referred to as liberalism, modernism, as well as other terms by conservative scholars. Yet, those who write and talk about the problem in many instances are guilty of condoning the philosophy through acceptance of academic degrees granted to them from institution of higher learning.  The condoning is apparent in that they wear the humanists titles of "Psychologist, psychiatrist, etc. The academic school of psychology in and of itself is a humanist philosophy (i.e., the field of Psychology seeks to explain most of humanity's ills as environmentally, socially, or hereditary based), this very concept deprives man of his God given sense of "free will" (i.e., free-moral-agency").  Whenever any area of teaching  (i.e., human wisdom) conflicts with the principle of "free will" it necessarily is a conflict between the wisdom of man and the wisdom of God,  God is always correct in such a conflict:

John 8:32

32        And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 

John 17:17

17        Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 12:48

48        He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.  (KJV)

CONSIDER THIS:

            Today in newspapers, on television, in magazines, and radio advertisements can be found adds  that encourages the general public to seek the services of various psychologist, join certain self-help group (e.g.,  Alcoholic Anonymous,  Smoke Enders,  etc.),  commit ones self into some major hospital that exist solely on the $ generated through the "we can help you if you will help yourself" philosophy of the humanist.  You see the humanist basic philosophy under girding this concept is,  "WE HAVE PLACED OURSELVES INTO THIS SITUATION and WE CAN GET OURSELVES OUT OF THIS MESS."    (NOTE: The humanist philosophy is the by product of  evolution that has been accepted by a large segment of today's society).  Excuse me!  this concept leaves the creator of man out of the restoration of things and the return to mental health which HE ALONE CAN RESTORE.  The Creator (i.e. the Godhead) is the only source of healing of body and mind that is currently available.  All physicians are but tools in the hand of the Creator,  this fact must be realized by the "humanist, etc." of this world or physical and mental health of the individuals and nations that are sick will never be affected.

INDOCTRINATION:

            "Mind control" (A form of social direction which includes the restructuring of moral standards, educational standards, religious standards, etc. ) is firmly established in the present "New World Order."  The concept of the humanist thinkers who control the direction of the New World Order hold that man must be herded as sheep or stock into a direction prescribed by themselves. These human visionaries seek a world void of God and the Divine standards of morals, ethics, and social interaction.  This is what is wrong with today's society,  this is the reason for the escalation of crime and other social ills,  man has no restraining hand upon his desire and/or lusts.  Without God man cannot long exist together without turning inward (i.e.,  is selfish, envious, mentally deranged, morally bankrupt, etc.).  PLEASE EXAMINE THE FOLLOWING REFERENCES THAT RELATE TO THIS PROBLEM,  TAKEN FROM THE BIBLE:

Jer 10:23

23        O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Rom 1:16-17

16        For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17        For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1 Cor 1:18-25

18        For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19        For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20        Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21        For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22        For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23        But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24        But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25        Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1 Cor 2:14

14        But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Cor 3:19

19        For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

THE FRUITS OF HUMANIST'S TEACHINGS:

Recently while looking through a television guide I discovered the following humanist leanings:

1.         A movie titled "SYBIL", the movie is about a woman who is possessed with 16 personalities (i.e. persons).  It occurred to me that this  story line was apparently a corruption of  a Bible text in

Matt 8:28-32

28        And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

29        And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

30        And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

31        So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

32        And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.   (KJV)

2.         The debate over "America's Welfare System."   As I listened to the dialogue it was apparent to me that those in favor of the welfare system as it now exist in America considered the persons presently receiving welfare assistance of one kind or another,  as  people who are socially, mentally inferior, or morally bankrupt (i.e., many of the young girls who were having babies and as a result were placed on the welfare rolls).  I was amazed at the concept! It is apparent that the humanist philosophy has also made inroads into the thinking of the "liberal establishment" to such a degree that "individual responsibility" was not even a consideration to apply to the persons who were welfare recipients.  This is  an "anti-God" philosophy just as sure as denying  man's free-moral-agency".   Humanity will continue to erode until man returns to the directives of the Bible.  Without a standard to judge man's behavior man will finally

function out of control (i.e., in such a society the only end is "anarchy"). God states it thusly:

Rom 10:1-3

1          Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

2          For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3          For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  (KJV)

The present direction of our Humanist led political, economic, and religious leadership is as stated in the text here of Romans  10:1-3. The problem with those in the text to which Paul addressed the epistle directly is imitated by the present humanist establishment.  The ultimate end of those who reject God's standard is also recorded here in Romans, note the following:

Rom 1:20-2:3

20        For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21        Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22        Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23        And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24        Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

25        Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26        For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27        And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28        And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29        Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30        Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31        Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32        Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them

CHAPTER 2

1          Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2          But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3          And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?   (KJV)

            The direction of the world and the thoughts of the world are completely out of step with the thoughts and ideals of God's people.  As we live day after day in the world and are forced to interact with these wicked people we must never compromise the 'Truth".  Let us recognize these facts about the humanist philosophy of life,  they teach that man's problems can be solved by and through human intervention and manipulation yet the Bible teaches that man's problems are the result of sin.  Since only God can help man resolve the problem of sin it is factual,  only God can solve our problems of mind and body.  Man can only complicate the problems associated with sin as he substitutes human wisdom for the Divine prescription, "Jesus Christ.",

NOTE;  Heb 5:8-9 

8          Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;   

9          And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

CONCLUSION:

            Let us ever be on guard against the creeping and insidious wickedness inherent in the "humanist philosophy" .  Christians will not submit to the false views either political, ethical, morally, socially, or educational.  Let us rather serve God out of a "free will" and use that freedom to serve God correctly.       [glc]

THE JUDGMENT OF GOD IS COMING!

There will never again be a great flood to cover the whole earth, but there will be another day of judgment coming for all mankind. As one reads the account of the first judgment of humanity in - Gen 6:5-10,

5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them." 8 But Noah  found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9 This is the genealogy of Noah . Noah  was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah  walked with God. NKJV

God's promise to never destroy the earth again with a great flood -         Gen 9:15-17, 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth." 17 And God said to Noah , "This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me a. NKJV

God's second judgment is coming - Rev 20:12-21:1,

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire . This is the second death.   15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire . NKJV

Prepare now and avoid the clamity that is to befall the wicked - Eccl. 12:13-14

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:

Fear God and keep His commandments,

For this is man's all.

14 For God will bring every work into judgment,

Including every secret thing,

Whether good or evil. NKJV
